These Summer Days

The summer sun shines, capturing our childhoods,

And memories become part of its light.

Here comes the sunset, I'm laughing with my friends again,

And soon we lose our ages to the night.

We are but children leaving trails of breadcrumbs

So one day we'll find our way back home.

On the horizon there's a rising sun of uncertainty

But these summer days will remind us we're not alone.

For now the world will turn without me.

Forget the fear of living life in shame.

The years will pass for an eternity,

But who's to say they'll ever be the same.

I feel the moonlight, the warmth of every midnight breeze,

summer evenings, oh we walked so far.

It's hard to understand how years slip by right through our hands

And suddenly we're wondering where we are.

For now the world will turn without me.

Forget the fear of living life in shame.

The years will pass for an eternity,

But who's to say they'll ever be the same.

The summer sun shines, I'm feeling just like I can fly

And suddenly I'm seven years old.

Not a worry, not a care to steal my innocence.

The world to me is simply made of gold.

For now the world will turn without me.

Forget the fear of living life in shame.

The years will pass for an eternity,

But who's to say they'll ever be the same.
